Abortion

It's going to make me insane if abortion becomes illegal again. Absolutely psychotically insane.
I might have to learn how to help women who want to terminate their pregnancies. It's illegal for midwives to do abortions, but maybe just sitting with them and giving them information and support. cough I'd do it for free. I'd caravan around the United States. I'd go to prison for it.

I don't live in a sanitized, conservative bubble of ignorance and blindness towards the realities of the world today. I have sat with 12-year-olds who were being raped and needing birth control and not knowing what to do. I've held the hands of 13-year-olds as they pushed babies out of their not-yet-formed bodies - and knew they would leave the hospital in 3 days taking a baby into a crack house.

My head is already near exploding from the mere thought of this FUCKING ASSHOLE PRESIDENT who stands so smugly in front of the press - his smirk makes me want to SMACK him! - and speaks about not knowing how someone he wants to install on the Supreme Court of the United States feels about abortion is just the most absurd thing I have ever seen or heard. And then her judge friends are like: of course she's pro-life! she's gone to evangelical churches for 25 years! how absurd the president wouldn't know that information.

I could just have a conniption.

Aaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about that poor little baby who gets ripped to shreds inside it's mother's womb which should be a peaceful sanctuary?

Hmmm, let's see, Jay McMullen... now that's an intelligent and articulate way to discuss the issue, isn't it. Apparently in Utah, you aren't around pregnant women who: are beaten senseless, addicted to *insert any drug or alcohol here*, or who cannot, for a plethora of reasons, "be" pregnant up to and including being killed by their husbands/boyfriends/partners. (Not that these are the only women who have abortions - I am well aware of that.)

But this is a subject for a blogspot all on its own. I'll tackle it soon, though, no worries.

And seriously, if you want your "side" to be heard? Emotional, over-dramatic exhortations are typically dismissed. Speak in real world experiences, including your own.

Oh, that's right, YOU'RE A MAN.

Isn't it amazing how in this day and age so many men still think and feel like they can dictate to women what we can and cannot do with our bodies?

I can't understand someone who is fired up over gun control laws, but down on women's CHOICES. Killing is killing isn't it? We all know that the world would be a much different place if MEN were able to get pregnant, and suddenly had to be RESPONSIBLE for something bigger than thier own noses!

GO you, I cant wait to see the abortion entry. *smoochies*

Well, I think he only posted on your blog in order to try to get people to look at his :) It worked.... I looked and everything he has written is anti-woman, pro-war, right wing, ultra-conservative crapola.
Barb, my feeling on abortion has been that it has to be a decision made by the person considering the process. While I can't picture myself ever getting one, I certainly have never walked in the shoes of a 13 year old girl who is pregnant by her stepfather or a woman who finds herself pregnant in the middle of a drug problem (where babe has been exposed. Therefore, I just don't think it is a great idea to make it illegal.
If people feel so strongly about fighting abortion, they should do it in their own homes. They should teach their children about reproduction and responsibility, treat their kids and wives well, and be thankful that they don't have to live through some of the nightmares that some women do.
