... had a cesarean. sigh I thought for sure, if anyone had a natural birth, it would be Ms. Jolie. I am so disappointed and even more disappointed that she shipped in an LA obstetrician for the birth in a tiny clinic. Why oh why didn't she have a midwife? Why didn't she birth her baby vaginally? I've read in some places that her daughter was breech, but still. sigh

How does natural birth ever have a hope if the most masochistic actress on the face of the planet succumbs to the pressure to birth cesarean. How much hope does anyone else have? Why oh why can't someone have a spectacular, filmed, beautiful, quiet, peaceful homebirth and share it with the world of television? Why does the "alternative" to homebirth have to be Shari Daniel's birth center in Miami? blech Why don't baby shows show what many of us know to be true? How come I can't interest any number of producers (that I personally know) to do a segment/show on natural homebirth? Why does birth have to be extremely dramatized to make it interesting? Why isn't the drama of a child slipping earthside enough?

Will those that scoff at us ever get it?

Yeah this one peeved me deeply. Did she try and get the baby to turn? Did she not realize that there could be a plethora of midwives who have "experience" in breech birth in that part of the world?!
That distant thudding you hear is my head, seems to be constantly beating against hard objects in disgust these days....
I don't know how to stop!

Brad Pitt mainly did it, but the c-section is, I think, the end of my girl crush on Angelina. Sigh. Maybe it will revive if they break up.

What was the freakin' point of having the baby in Africa if she ended up with an LA cutter anyhow? FGS!

I also thought Brangelina would be crunchy and unmedicated, nay--naked, pushing while breathing and share her birth video.

I maintain (and Dr. Flea confirms) that breech vaginal birth just isn't "taught" in med school/residency. They don't get to see it, they are taught it's a reason for C-birth, and so It.Is.

I understand that Angelina had a double footling breech. Possibly the baby could have been delivered naturally, but it'd be pretty hard to find a birth attendant to agree to deliver one, wouldn't it?
