Watch "Good Morning America"

GMA is doing a segment on breastfeeding in public. The teaser made it sound a tad unbalanced against it, but let's watch and see what they do to the subject.

Someone is going to have to email me or write a comment about it so I know what happened. I have to go to work, so will miss it.

Thanks!

I caught the tail end of the GMA segment, but I thought it was great. The Reporter interviewing the editor of "Baby Talk" (who by the way just decided to put a bf babe on her cover) talked about her own bf experience and the difficulty of balancing work and bf. Most objective representation of bf I've seen in a while: "Its important, its really really hard, and women deserve support."

I saw it - it was a very positive segment encouaging America to get rid of the hang-ups so that breastfeeding moms can comfortably nurse their little ones in public.

One lady who was interviewed and against nursing in public said nursing moms need to learn more discretion and stop taking their shirts off. I'm in my 40s, have nursed all 7 babies in public and have NEVER taken my shirt off nor seen any nursing mom wearing no top. What is she talking about?

Kudos to the magazine "Baby Talk" for evidently being the first magazine to show nursing baby on the cover. It's a gorgeous photo, too!

Mothering magazine has had nursing babies on the cover since it's inception. There was another magazine, I can't remember the name of it, but it had Pierce Brosnan and his wife (can't remember her name either) nursing their baby on the cover. The great thing about that picture was that the mom had her shirt opened from the top down, and yet it was still a very tasteful photograph.

I m sorry to say I missed the segement.

I found this online link for video....

and this to the written story...

It did look like a respectful, well done piece..if it's the same as what was on this morning....

Wow - taking their shirts off? Yeah, where does that woman live, anyway?? :)

Almost every nursing momma I have seen is so adept at nursing discretely that you can barely tell she is nursing at all! Sure, sometimes a squirmy baby might lift up her shirt and expose something for a second, but who cares??

Wish I would've seen that segment. Headed to GMA's website to see if they have any info on it.

Yes, that woman has probably seen dozens of nursing mothers without even realising it.

There's very little stigma attached to breast feeding in public here in Australia. The same people who make unpleasant comments are the same kind of people who feel that touching women's stomachs while they are pregnant is acceptable. That is, people that everyone else is used to ignoring. But any kind of comment or attention is rare in my experience.
