Everyone Buy Vogue Magazine!

Thanks to Holly for sharing this amazing picture of a nursing TODDLER in Vogue magazine.

Wow!

This picture is of model Angela Lindvall nursing her 14-month old. How often do any of us have pictures of our nursing our toddlers? By the time they are this age, typically, we are taking pictures of their antics, not having our photos done.

If you are nursing a toddler, ask someone to take a picture of you nursing today. Save the moment. You surely look as gorgeous as Angela Lindvall even if you aren't wearing Dolce & Gabbana while you nurse.

So, looking at the two pictures side by side, I have to wonder how anyone could possibly see these photos as "gross." How sad is it that pictures at the checkstand can show everything but a nipple covered by a bikini top and that is perfectly acceptable, but plop a baby where the bathing suit was and it is suddenly gross? Puhlease.

If I were nursing right now, I would be so blatant in my breastfeeding. Screw discretion! If society is going to get over it, they need to SEE it first.

Let's all show our functional - and beautiful - breasts!

LOL - I have thought the same thing. I didn't bat an eye when my 6-month old declared he was hungry at the fabric store the other day. I was pressed for time and walked around shopping & nursing him at the same time. I doubt anyone even knew what was going on. But if they did, it wouldn't bother me in the least. Moms feed their babies bottles while shopping, why shouldn't I nurse my baby?

I nursed my little guy up until his fourth birthday--I so wish I would have had the guts to do it in public!

At a festival the other day, I noticed a mama slinging her toddler while he gripped her breast and nursed indescreetly. Why should that little guy carry the burden of our shame?! I past her and gave her a thumbs up.

Let the games being!

Seriously, I think I need to let my 4 1/2 YEAR old son nurse the next time I am out and about. I am sure he wouldn't object.

While at the store today I had my daughter in the sling nursing her (13 months old), while pushing my twins and 4 year old followed... A lady (about 65) came up to me and said you wouldn't have all those children if you had some morals !!! Can you believe ! My 3 year old stood up and said leave my mom alone, she's feeding my bebe sister. NOW, why can a 3 year old get it but a grown up can't.
Oh and Thanks the heavens for no morals I guess because ALL my kids were planned and I'm thrilled to have them all !

I'm from PA and the discrimination is alive and kicking here! Probably depends on the circles you travel in. I'm on gov.t health insurance and I actually know more about breastfeeding than my kids' doctors at the pediatric clinic. I've fought people's attitudes with my old job and my M-I-Law. I've had a few rude comments from strangers, or just stares and only one positive comment(from a Mom at a audiologist visit). I got out the most after my first baby and nursed her all over the place, but I think it was less noticable because I was smaller then. It seemed easier to be discreet, I guess because my clothes were baggier and there was less belly/breast to show when nursing.
