Car Birth - Baby 3
Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:15AM
My daughter (the same one nursing below) being born in the car.
Notice NO GLOVES!
The doctor, cutting the cord, was Mark Repka (who has read my blog), was one of the most kind physicians I have ever known and who taught me volumes about birth and obstetrics. The hand on the right is a CNM - I don't recall her name.
You can see my leg and foot in the upper left corner.
Nice healthy cord, too.
She was born in a 1982 2-door Toyota Tercel.

nice healthy cord but a little too blood filled and pumping for my taste- as far as already being clamped- great picture though.
Ahhh, yes! I should have mentioned it was 40 degrees outside. That is an important fact. Sorry. I absolutely agree... I would never clamp a cord that soon.
She was whisked right into the warmer... and then, when I got to the recovery room, she was put on me, skin to skin, and we had a warmer over us both. :) She never got cold.
Thanks for pointing that out.
