County Drive

I'm headed out for a several cross-county drive to do a 3-day visit on a baby.

Donna and I had a wonderful, magical birth on Sunday 3 hours away as the crow flies; 4-6 hours away depending on traffic (through Los Angeles). I can't wait to write about it. Mom "knew" she was going to go into labor soon, had mild contractions and called us up in plenty of time, and once she began labor in earnest, had her baby in less than 4 hours. And we were there! It was so great.

Okay, I need to head out lest this be one of the several hour trips. I'm listening to Mark Victor Hansen empowerment tapes along the way, as well as Disney music. Donna and I yacked our heads off in the Carpool Lane last time. She isn't coming this time, darn it all. She's being interviewed today by a regional New Age magazine (the topic is my office and natural birth, doulas and, hopefully, midwifery!). I will be phone interviewed afterwards.

I'm also photographing this family today. This is getting to be a really nice sidelight to my practice, this photography part. I think I'm getting much better at it, too. Love it!

Off and running. More as soon as things settle down. Yet another birth story to write!
