The Audience of The Business of Being Born 8/25/07

Me in the middle in the tie-dye (of course!). The Licensed Midwife to your left in the brown. My squealie doula fan to your right. My apprentice Donna directly above my head holding her daughter Kyra in the tie-dye sling. My new apprentice Lexi holding her son Hunter to Donna's right (your left) in the black with the green sling. I think the Family Practice doc is the woman in the red and the CNM is the pregnant woman in the black and white. The great LLL contingent is on the right side of the picture. I am not sure who the women in the back were, but I loved meeting them and was glad they were there. Only a couple of more people were in the audience, but left before the picture, plus the LM's husband who graciously took the picture.

Thanks for posting - I have been excitedly awaiting the chance to see this movie - probably will not see it until it's released on DVD though. I imagine I will have critiques as well when I do see it, especially if the midwife was catching babies with no gloves.

Thanks for recounting the movie - even though it has it's negative points (and things I totally agree should not have been put in!), I look forward to seeing it. Too bad I have to wait for the DVD to come out for sale...I don't live in any of the cities listed, and I don't have netflix. Bummer!

Looks like you all had a great time!!

Thanks for posting and for putting up the very fun picture. I might take offense at being called "squealie" if it weren't so accurate ;-) Take care!

LOL... I'm the LM you mentioned... maybe even the adorable blonde? ;) ;)

Great to meet you and I watched it with your same criticism. Even so, I intend to sponsor a showing in Orange County. Cross your fingers it works out for us!

Kris!!!! You should have spelled your name for me!!!

I just got approval tonight to sponsor a showing *for a week!* down here! I am so excited I can hardly stand it!

More details as I get things solidified.

How I wish I'd hugged you a LOT harder!

Awwwwwww, I always get that-- if we all had our email addresses pinned to our shirts we'd know exactly who each other is when we meet ;)

That's amazing to show it for a week. Do you have the space in your facility to do that? We're tight on space so we are looking elsewhere. I'm sure you'll see an announcement somewhere from me.

Oh how I wish I could have been there with you all! There is a showing being sponsored here in Dallas, and I now need to move heaven and earth to get there!
