Roosters?
Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 09:33AM Did everyone else but Sarah and I know that chickens and roosters inhabit the island of Kauai? They are everywhere! The roosters crow every hour of the day (and seemingly night), are so gorgeous, especially for us city-folk who aren't used to seeing something like farm animals roaming around freely like this.
Sarah and I are on Kauai. We're halfway through our (cough) working vacation. I'm supposed to be working a lot more than I am, but the island is so wonderful, so gorgeous, we just can't stop going to the beaches, exploring... I'm not getting nearly enough done. I am going to have to play some serious catch up in the next day or so.
If you want a vacation without the kids, come to Kauai. This is the geriatric and honeymooner's island. We have seen about 4 children (and I am not exaggerating). It has been the polar opposite of a Disney vacation, but there are definitely aspects that are not Disney, too. The hotel's service is seriously lacking. The restaurant's service was horrid last night. Just lots of things about the island that you would think they would have honed because of seeing so many tourists that are not. Not Disney.
But there aren't any kids. wink Trade off, right?
So, we're here for a few more days and then plunged right into our week with The Business of Being Born. We are very, very excited about it!
But, for now... we're waking up... having breakfast and heading out to find a place to go snorkling this morning in Poip'u.
Ahhhh....
