Learning SquareSpace

Forgive the odd look. I am still trying to get the gist of this new format. This isn't the most intuitive blogging site, but it's paid and they can't censor and just remove my site on a whim like Blogger can. It will be odd being somewhere else, but I think it's important to save the integrity of my work/writings.

Sarah backed-up my whole Blogger site last night on Word... pics and all. Nothing like the fear of losing one's work to spur one into action!

Thanks for your patience and I hope it's all together soon.

I like this new site, looks good.

Can you explain what happened over at blogspot? I'm in the process of moving to wordpress anyway, but am curious as to what happened? Did they just flag your site or actually delete posts? I wasn't really surprised it was flagged because of the photo on the front page, and you know how americans are with their nudity. Give em violence and they're thrilled, give em innocent nudity and they are appalled.

As far as transferring comments, isn't there a function here that allows you to transfer the contents of another blog? Wordpress has that and I can transfer posts and comments in one click.

Good luck with your new space.

I'm glad you moved. It's so silly that you were flagged; the only thing I can think of is the photo at the top, and that was up for a while!

I check your blog daily, and my bookmarks have been updated appropriately. :)

I personally LOVE the new look....the colors, the design...and especially that powerful picture.

Thank you all for coming along. Makes me smile!

Is there the capability to receive follow-up emails? I'll have to poke around and see.

What happened was I was flagged and as I researched the issue, learned flagging was often the first step to losing one's whole site. I was terrified to have everything go, so moved it all here, a paid site that becomes "my own."

When I talked about Sarah and I backing up my whole blog except the comments didn't come along, that was with our saving the site in Word. As the blog came over here, it definitely all came, comments and all.

Now I have to figure out how much I want to spend/need to spend every month... depends on how much space I need. As I learn more, I will know better what my needs are. I appreciate your patience as I stumble around. Thanks!

Wow. It makes me so angry that you got flagged. I have to admit, the jaded side of me believes that ACOG, the AMA, or Dr. A (Their hench-maiden) could have a hand in it. It wouldn't surprise me; especially if you were doing better in search engines than Dr. A. They could have easily urged supporters to flag you...

If not, then Blogger is nuts. Yesterday I inadvertently stumbled upon the most disturbing porn blog. I'm not even super anti-porn, this site was just that bad. But you know, I didn't even think to flag it. How can sites like that go without the proceed-with-caution-page like your has?

I'm off to change your link. It must feel empowering to own your own blog. Good for you. I hope Google finds you quickly. We NEED your voice to still be a presence on the web. Keep writing the truth!
