Silvia Frank's Obituary

Silvia Frank was a client of mine for her two last babies. She was murdered by her estranged husband, reportedly in front of one of the children. You can read my initial response to the tragedy here. And, an aside since this is a birth blog, all five of her girls were born at home. Silvia was radiant in labor! I miss her so, so very much.

From the Valley Chronicle, Dec. 16, 2010

Sylvia Leticia Frank, 37, of San Jacinto, died Nov. 30, 2010, at Hemet Valley Medical Center.

Services were Dec. 11 at McWane Family Funeral Home. Interment was private.

Ms. Frank, who was born in Mexico, lived in San Jacinto seven years. She was a registered nurse at Hemet Valley Medical Center and at Kaiser in Moreno Valley.

She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, going to the beach, and snorkeling.

Ms. Frank is survived by five daughters, Clarke Malyn, Avery Noel, Miller Camille, Leiland Grace, and Quinn Anneleise; her parents, Balbina and Jose Manuel Olivares; and three siblings, Gabriela Saldaa, Jose Manuel Olivares Jr., and Juan Francisco Olivares.

Remembrances can be sent to an account at Pacific Trust Bank, Account No. 322274527-1020018003. The account is in Balbina Olivares' name, Ms. Frank's mother.

What is the rest of the story? What was her diagnosis in hospital? Why did she go to the hospital if she had all her other girls at home? Very sad.

I added onto the beginning of the piece, so feel free to link to my original post about her violent murder. She was killed by her estranged husband, in front of the oldest daughter. Silvia wanted to be a homebirth midwife in the worst way and always talked about doing so, with me, after Quinn was in school. Sadly, we will never work together.

I am so sorry to hear about this tragedy. She and her daughters are so beautiful and happy in the photo, it just makes what happened that much worse. I hope the survivors find some peace.

Heartbreaking. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

And for those girls, how terrible. I know how my midwife/preceptor would love on my children if I were to die under *any* circumstances, so I know that you will be a blessing to those girls during this time.

I'm so sorry. Sending lots of love to her friends and family. Write down everything you can remember about their mom for those girls, they will cherish it someday.

That is hideous. I am so sorry. I thought she died in hospital from birth complications.

I found out on 6/6/11 that Silvia was killed. We met at Hemet Hospital on 02/22/2010. She was my nurse. It was a horrible time for me, I found out that my baby boy had died inside of me. She was my nurse that delivered my son Cayden. I remember her looking at me and then telling me that she also had lost a baby boy. Instantly we bonded. I was so greatful that God sent her to me. She was an angel from heaven. She was such a wonderful person to me. She was caring and I felt there was nothing I could do to repay her. We talked via facebook but not very often because she was so busy with those beautiful girls of hers. If there is anything I can to to help the family please have them email me.I would love to meet her girls. I know she is up in Heaven with our baby boys. Silvia you will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. You will be missed daily. I love you girl.

Silvia was my best friend for life and she will be greatly missed. We talked on Facebook, but not for long because she was so busy with those beautiful daughters of hers. We met at Bautista Creek Elementary School when she was going on her daughter's field trip to Pathfinder Ranch and we hung out a lot and she slept in the same cabin as I did. Silvia will always hold a special place in my heart. If there is anything I can do to help the family, have them email me!

I know Silvia is in heaven with her baby boy and I would love to meet her girls. You will be missed daily. I LOVE YOU SILVIA!
