Dr. Biter in the Union-Tribune

Encinitas Physician Penalized: Repeated negligence occurred, state says.

This, of course, was all before the baby's death July 1, 2012. I pray the Medical Board does something about that as well.

This quote says it all: “These remain accusations. The medical board has not asked me to admit guilt,” he said. “I have the truth on my side and integrity on my side.”

Biter does not think he has done anything wrong. He will do everything to circumvent the conditions of his probation, and carry on as before. Oh, he'll go to the prescribed classes, and not pay any attention [he knows better than the lecturer, no doubt], and he'll find some compliant colleague to be his supervisor but who won't supervise anything at all; he'll call himself a "doula" and claim he wasn't attending a woman with the intention of delivering her...and so on and so forth.

And I bet he tries to sue the paper and the writer for libel.

He is a very dangerous person, and he should not be on probation but have had his license revoked. Or be where he can't do any damage -- in what White Coat calls "the Greybar Motel".

Very sad.

Dude. Among other very serious offenses, you removed the wrong ovary. That's the truth.

But nothing is ever his fault. It's the people who are out to get him--the other OBs in the community, the staff at Scripps Encinitas, the women who sued him and the ones who reported him to the MBOC, the CA attorney general's office, and the board itself--all of them are in a huge conspiracy to get him because... because...

Biter is going off the wall. Last night, he posted some screen shots of a conversation with La Shel Montgomery, a CNM he was working with, that made the North County midwives sound extremely frightening, safety-wise. (I concur.) He made a comment about La Shel being a spurned potential lover and that now that Biter isn't financially beneficial, she's joined the crowd that sees how dangerous he was/is.

(Heresay, so far.) This in response to La Shel posting the UT article and saying she was wrong and now sees how dangerous Biter is.

Oh, my... just when you think it couldn't get any worse (and any more soap opera-ish!).

Humorous side-note: I was mentioned as a Bitch in the discussion. *laughing* I thought that was hilarious. Because I saw him for what he was long before the others saw it? Yeah, some bitch I am. So be it.

"I know the truth" really? Wasn't there a problem with the truth and that is why he has to take a course on honesty and ethics? Wait! Didn't he say he was head of the ethics committee? Ooy I am so confused.

Comments: I've worked in birth for 27 years and have never met a doctor as ethical and amazing as Dr. Biter. Your hospital is seriously mistaken for removing him from patients and staff. He is needed. And very, very wanted.

"karma":

I have been very clear in my removal of my support of Dr. Biter. Have you missed that along the way? Your reminder of my once unwavering support does nothing but make it even sadder to know that Dr. Biter has disappointed everyone with his behavior and actions. What was your reason for this and where would you get the exact wording for this? Only a couple of people would have this statement, one being Dr. Biter himself. It certainly wouldn't be *him* (with all this new time on his hands) writing bizarre things on blogs and on facebook, would it?

I imagine there are many many names on that petition from two and a half year ago...mine included who no longer support Dr Biter. The thing to remember is so many things have happened since then, babies put in danger, women's lives put at risk (not to mention any hope of children), the medical board information became public, Dr Biter has lied and threatened many members of the San Diego birth community. I would invite "Karma" to take a look at the rest of the names on that petition and think really hard about how many of those folks are still standing up for this man who has damaged so many lives.

Its not hard to find ppl that support Dr biter when it helps them. It is sad that when he needs support the most ppl seem to disappear. But I have a feeling the truth will come out soon enough. And no this is not Dr biter, just a faithful, greatful patient.

I saw Jill's ( from the unnecesarean) post of Biter's video when he was trying to save face. Comments were mixed, but Jill was still supporting him too. Has she had any recent comments regarding him?

Again...that petition was from 2.5 years ago. Many many terrifying things have happened since then. Continuing to support a physician who has dramatically effected the lives of so many in awful ways is deplorable. Have you read the CA Medical Board document? All of those cases are indisputable fact (they have been researched, both parties interviewed, medical records collected and an outside medical consultant has decided that he was negligent). That does not even mention that his signature on the document means he accepts culpability for all the cases in the document. As a man so committed to "truth and integrity" I would assume he would have taken these cases to public hearing in lieu of cutting a deal with the medical board if, in fact,he was innocent.

"The truth wil come out" The truth has been oozing out like an incised abcess for how.many years now? People keep saying "look at all that has happened since..." Yes, but look at all that happenned before that finally lead up to this point. It's all equally significant. People were hurt and so damaged by this Dr.The amount of denial is insane.

New document on medical board as of november 2012. It looks like an extension of his suspension for an undefined length of time. Is this what thhat doc means?

December 8, 2012 | Unregistered Commenterguest

I've read the document, but it's not clear enough for me to post about. It *seems* like he has a moratorium on ANY medical practice at all until the medical board can address a certain case mentioned in the document. The assumption is the case is the death of the infant at the homebirth he was at in July. But again, the document was too obscure for me to make a comment on. ;)
