Roosters?

Did everyone else but Sarah and I know that chickens and roosters inhabit the island of Kauai? They are everywhere! The roosters crow every hour of the day (and seemingly night), are so gorgeous, especially for us city-folk who aren't used to seeing something like farm animals roaming around freely like this.

Sarah and I are on Kauai. We're halfway through our (cough) working vacation. I'm supposed to be working a lot more than I am, but the island is so wonderful, so gorgeous, we just can't stop going to the beaches, exploring... I'm not getting nearly enough done. I am going to have to play some serious catch up in the next day or so.

If you want a vacation without the kids, come to Kauai. This is the geriatric and honeymooner's island. We have seen about 4 children (and I am not exaggerating). It has been the polar opposite of a Disney vacation, but there are definitely aspects that are not Disney, too. The hotel's service is seriously lacking. The restaurant's service was horrid last night. Just lots of things about the island that you would think they would have honed because of seeing so many tourists that are not. Not Disney.

But there aren't any kids. wink Trade off, right?

So, we're here for a few more days and then plunged right into our week with The Business of Being Born. We are very, very excited about it!

But, for now... we're waking up... having breakfast and heading out to find a place to go snorkling this morning in Poip'u.

Ahhhh....

Gorgeous Women of Hawai'i

Our Luau was filled with REAL women! In talking to others at the hotel, their Luaus had skinny chicks. Our Luau had women of substance. While I wasn't terribly thrilled with our Luau, I was overjoyed with these amazingly beautiful women.

Poi Balls

These were the Fire Poi Balls done by the beautiful women at the Luau. Isn't this so cool? (I am so amazed sometimes by what I can do with my camera!)

Strength

I love, Love, LOVE this picture I got! It doesn't look so good blown up, though, but is phenomenal small like this. I need someone to doctor it for me to make it look wonderful huge. I really like the power in this one a LOT. (Can you tell?)

Requisite Luau Picture

We had our tablemates take this shot. The $20 one they take for us is pretty amusing and I will have to scan it for you all and put it up another time. Don't we look a tad... um... Mai Tai'd?
